Salary: £40,000 - 50,000 per year
Requirements: Demonstrable experience owning infrastructure and independently resolving second- and third-line issues.Strong hands-on experience administering Windows Server and Microsoft 365 environments.Solid networking fundamentals and ability to troubleshoot issues across multi-site environments.Comfortable working directly with technical suppliers and challenging delivery where needed.Strong organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams.Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to offices and construction sites.Relevant technical certifications are desirable but not essential; construction industry experience is not required. Responsibilities: Own second- and third-line escalations, resolve complex issues through to completion, and address recurring problems at source.Deliver IT for new site mobilisations and demobilisations, including connectivity, network configuration, segmentation, and equipment provisioning.Administer Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Entra ID, Conditional Access, and Intune across multiple environments.Manage Windows endpoints, including imaging, application deployment, patching, compliance, and the transition from SCCM to Intune co-management.Maintain Windows Server and Hyper-V infrastructure, including builds, patching, backup, and recovery.Support and develop networking across offices and sites, including switching, firewalls, wireless, VPNs, and site connectivity.Contribute to infrastructure projects from scoping through delivery and handover, working with third-party suppliers where required.Maintain accurate service desk, asset, and technical documentation, and share knowledge across the wider IT team. We are recruiting on behalf of a growing construction group for a Senior IT Support Engineer to join its in-house IT team. This broad second- and third-line role offers ownership of infrastructure across a multi-site environment, spanning Microsoft technologies, networking, endpoints, servers, new site deployments, and wider infrastructure projects. It suits someone who enjoys seeing technical problems through to resolution and working across a varied estate rather than focusing solely on tickets. The role is based in Bedford, onsite five days per week, with regular travel to offices and sites. The salary is £40,000–£50,000 plus a £4,000 car allowance.
