Commercial Account Handler – Property Owners bias, New Business & Renewals

We’re working with an established, independent Lloyd’s insurance broker with a strong reputation across the UK market. Known for their specialist expertise and friendly, supportive culture, they’re now looking to add a Commercial Account Handler to their growing team.
This is a new business-focused role, with around 70% of the portfolio centred around Property Owners, alongside Commercial Combined, PI and Liability risks.
The Role
Predominantly handling inbound new business, with a small renewal allocation of 5-10 renewals per monthDealing with residential and commercial Property Owners risksManaging enquiries from individual landlords through to blocks of flats and mixed-use propertiesObtaining quotations and negotiating with insurersUsing Acturis for standard risksDeveloping new business through inbound leads, cross-selling and self-generated opportunitiesWorking closely with experienced handlers on larger and more complex risks You’ll receive full support and training, including shadowing a senior new business handler during your first few months. Initially, you’ll focus on smaller risks before gradually taking on more complex business.
About You
12+ months’ commercial insurance experience, ideally within a broking environmentPrivate Clients experience with strong property exposure will also be consideredGood understanding of commercial insurance products and terminologyConfident dealing with clients and insurersStrong communication and relationship-building skillsCommercially minded with a genuine interest in new businessOrganised, proactive and detail-focusedActuris experience would be advantageous
