Account Handler – Property Owners
Salary: Up to £45,000
Location: City of London / Hybrid (3 days in the office)
We’re are partnering with a leading global insurance broker, recognised as one of the largest in the market, with an established reputation for its specialist expertise, strong insurer relationships and client-focused approach.
Their Real Estate team looks after some of the UK’s largest Property Owners clients, combining the resources of a major international broker with a specialist, service-led approach. With consistently strong retention, continued growth and plans to significantly expand its Property Owners division, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful team with a clear focus on technical development and long-term career progression.
The Role
Supporting a team of Account Executives with the broking, preparation and ongoing management of their clients Real Estate insurance accountsTaking ownership of a smaller portfolio of your own SME Property Owners clients, typically managing around 15–20 accounts per monthHandling predominantly residential property risks, alongside commercial property, including individual properties, blocks of flats and wider portfoliosManaging renewals, retention, mid-term adjustments (MTAs) and day-to-day client servicingObtaining quotations and negotiating terms through the internal underwriting binder, with access to the open market where requiredPreparing insurance submissions and presentations, using Acturis to support the broking processSupporting larger and more complex accounts alongside experienced Account Executives, including a major portfolio Building strong relationships with insurers and attending pre-renewal meetings, client meetings and networking eventsWorking collaboratively across the team to deliver a high standard of service, maintain client retention and identify opportunities to develop existing accounts The team benefits from access to an established in-house underwriting facility, allowing them to respond quickly to opportunities and provide tailored solutions for a broad range of Property Owners risks. Portfolios can vary significantly in complexity, from smaller landlord accounts to larger schedules involving challenging exposures such as flood risk.
About You
Ideally 18 months to 2 years’ experience in commercial insurance, with a background in Property Owners, Landlord or Real Estate policy handlingActuris experience is a mustConfident communicating with clients, insurers and Managing Agents, including handling challenging conversations professionallyWell organised, proactive and comfortable managing competing priorities in a busy London market environmentA strong team player who is happy to roll up their sleeves and support colleagues when requiredA strong work ethic, with a genuine interest in developing specialist Property Owners knowledge and progressing your career
