Cook - Care Home
Location: New MaldenHourly rate: £17phJob Type: Temporary (1 day per week, potential to become permanent 36 hours per week)Working Hours: Fridays, 7:00 AM to 6:30/7:00 PM We are currently seeking a dedicated Cook for a care home based in New Malden. This temporary position offers a great opportunity to join a caring team, providing nutritious meals to residents. The role currently requires work on Fridays only, with a high potential to become a permanent position.
Day to Day of the Role:
Prepare and cook meals for 36 residents, including breakfast (full English breakfast, cereal, porridge), lunch (typically fish and chips, fish pie, rice or pasta with sauce), and supper (pasta bake, lasagna, quiche, and a variety of sandwiches).Serve lunch to approximately 5-7 staff members.Prepare cakes in the afternoon.Perform cleaning duties and maintain kitchen hygiene.Complete necessary paperwork, including checking fridge and food temperatures. Required Skills & Qualifications:
Previous experience in a care home kitchen.Level 2 Food and Safety certification.Enhanced DBS check.Two references from previous employment. Benefits:
