About this role
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering business supporting customers across sectors including rail, marine, power, oil & gas and industrial engineering.
This is a hands-on, technically varied role involving engineering investigations, problem solving, technical documentation and customer support.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out BoM checks, condition assessments and technical investigationsFault finding, diagnosis and problem solvingSupport overhaul projects and First Article InspectionsManage engineering changes, concessions and production permitsInvestigate and manage warranty claimsProduce technical reports, method statements, overhaul instructions and test proceduresReview drawings and technical documentationSupport Sales, Projects, Production, Quality and Operations teamsLiaise with customers and suppliers on technical mattersIdentify engineering improvements and cost-saving opportunities About You
HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 6 years' professional engineering experienceStrong hands-on engineering and problem-solving backgroundExperience with technical investigations and report writingKnowledge of BS 8888 and ISO 9001:2015Understanding of overhaul/engineering processesExcellent analytical and communication skillsProactive, adaptable and commercially awareExperience in rail, marine, power, oil & gas or industrial engineering would be advantageousKnowledge of mechanical driveline products would be beneficial but is not essential
