We at JKR are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Coordinator to join our client’s growing team in Tewkesbury!
The Health and Safety Coordinator will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental systems across the site. This role will have a particular focus on COSHH and chemical safety, ensuring hazardous substances are appropriately assessed, controlled and managed within a manufacturing environment.
Health and Safety Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintain and manage the site COSHH registerReview and interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Complete and review COSHH and general risk assessmentsEnsure the correct storage, segregation and labelling of chemicalsSupport the safe handling, transportation and disposal of hazardous substancesDevelop and support Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)Carry out internal Health & Safety inspections and auditsMonitor chemical storage and wet process areasSupport external audits and regulatory inspectionsTrack and close out audit actionsSupport employee inductions, refresher training and toolbox talksPromote hazard awareness and PPE compliance across the siteInvestigate incidents, chemical spills and near misses, identifying root causes and corrective actionsSupport environmental protection measures and continuous improvement initiatives The Ideal Health and Safety Coordinator:
Previous Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of COSHH and chemical safetyExperience working with hazardous substancesAbility to interpret Safety Data SheetsExperience completing risk assessments and implementing appropriate control measuresKnowledge of UK Health & Safety legislationKnowledge of environmental complianceStrong communication and organisational skillsNEBOSH General Certificate or working towards would be advantageous Health and Safety Coordinator Working Hours & Benefits:
