Buyer – Lincoln – £30,000 – Temporary Contract - 3 Months
Are you an experienced Buyer or Purchasing professional looking for your next opportunity within a busy Supply Chain environment? Do you enjoy managing suppliers, negotiating pricing and lead times, and ensuring products are available when needed? Chase & Holland are delighted to be working with a well-established organisation who are looking for a Buyer to join their Supply Chain team in Lincoln. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous buying, purchasing or supply chain experience to take ownership of a varied supplier portfolio and play an important role in maintaining stock availability and supporting the wider business.

Place and manage purchase orders to ensure product availability and prevent stock shortagesReview outstanding orders and proactively chase suppliers for delivery updatesLiaise with suppliers regarding delivery dates, priority orders and stock availabilityNegotiate pricing, lead times and order quantities to achieve the best commercial outcomeMaintain accurate promise dates, supplier information and order recordsMonitor stock levels, identifying potential shortages and opportunities to reduce overstockResolve supplier issues relating to pricing, delivery errors and product qualityLiaise with Account Managers regarding stock availability and delivery requirementsWork closely with Quality, Customer Service, Finance, Warehouse and Goods In teamsMonitor and cancel overdue or unnecessary orders where appropriateLiaise with freight forwarders and Stores to support timely deliveriesSupport new product introductions and wider Supply Chain projectsIdentify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, lead times, costs and stock flow Required Skills & Experience:
Previous experience within Buying, Purchasing or Supply ChainExperience managing suppliers and purchase ordersStrong commercial awareness, particularly around pricing, lead times and delivery costsExcellent organisation skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication and negotiation skillsA proactive approach to problem solving and supplier managementGood attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate system informationExperience within wholesale, FMCG, distribution or another stock-led environment would be advantageous If you are interested in finding out about this exciting Buyer opportunity, please click ‘apply now’.
