Bastrop Veterinary Hospital is looking for a dependable, compassionate Kennel Assistant / Kennel Technician to help care for our hospitalized and boarding patients. In this role, you'll play an important part in keeping pets safe, comfortable, and well cared for while helping our hospital run smoothly. If you enjoy hands-on animal care, working as part of a team, and staying active throughout the day, we'd love to meet you! Provide daily care for hospitalized and boarding patients, including feeding, watering, walking, bathing, and monitoring their well-being. Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately. Monitor patients for changes in behavior, signs of distress, or potential health concerns and promptly notify the veterinary team. Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient handling and other duties as needed. Clean and disinfect kennels, runs, cages, litter boxes, food and water bowls, bedding, treatment areas, and other hospital spaces. Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for all patients. Wash, fold, and put away laundry throughout the day. Restock supplies in kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and laundry areas. Properly dispose of waste and help maintain clean hospital grounds. Follow hospital safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols. Perform additional duties as needed to support daily hospital operations.
