We are currently recruiting for a Financial Services Lead to join a leading housing association. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to lead a high-performing financial services function, overseeing income management, rent accounting, cashflow, payroll controls, tax compliance and financial reporting within a complex organisation.
Working closely with senior finance leaders, treasury colleagues and operational stakeholders, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust financial controls, delivering accurate financial information, and supporting continuous improvement across the finance function.
Financial Services Lead - Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Financial Services team, providing day-to-day management, coaching and development of finance staffOversee income management, cash collection, credit control, rent accounting and creditor payment processesManage daily and medium-term cashflow forecasting, working closely with Treasury to support funding requirements and surplus cash investmentsEnsure all balance sheet reconciliations, control accounts and general ledger processes are maintained accurately and on a timely basisSupport the preparation of statutory accounts and regulatory returns for group entitiesOversee payroll controls and reconciliations, ensuring compliance with pension and statutory obligationsManage the preparation and submission of tax returns, including VAT, CIS, Corporation Tax, SDLT, PSA and P11D requirementsLead the annual rent and service charge increase process, ensuring compliance and timely implementationProduce KPI reporting and Payment Practice Reports, providing insight and recommendations to senior stakeholdersDrive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen processes, controls and service delivery Financial Services Lead - Ideal Candidate:
Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent)Strong experience within financial accounting, financial services, treasury, rent accounting or housing financeDemonstrable experience managing and developing finance teamsExperience overseeing cashflow management, income collection and financial controlsStrong understanding of balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts and regulatory complianceKnowledge of payroll controls and tax compliance requirementsExcellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial dataStrong stakeholder management and business partnering skillsHighly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesPrevious housing association experience would be advantageous Rewards and Benefits:
