Learn more about our Vision, purpose, values - AngloGold Ashanti POSITION Manager Sustainability Management DEPARTMENT Sustainability LOCATION Iduapriem Gold Mine Ghana EMPLOYMENT STATUS Full Time OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE Responsible for securing, managing, and maintaining access to land required for mining and exploration activities. Ensure land access is obtained lawfully, ethically, and in alignment with regulatory requirements, community expectations, and company standards, while minimizing social and operational risks. ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES Develop and implement land access strategies to support exploration, mining, and infrastructure activities, while providing strategic advice on complex land access matters and continuous improvement opportunities. Lead land acquisition, leasing, access, compensation, and surface rights processes, including negotiations and consultations with landowners, traditional authorities, and other stakeholders. Identify, assess, and mitigate land-related risks, and manage disputes or grievances that may impact operations or project delivery. Maintain accurate documentation, mapping, and tracking of land access agreements and obligations, and support permitting processes with required land access information. Monitor compliance with land access agreements and applicable land, mining, and environmental laws and regulations, including support for rehabilitation and land return processes where applicable. Work closely with Legal, Community Relations, Environmental, and Operations teams, manage external stakeholder relationships, and lead and develop direct reports. ROLE REQUIREMENTS Education & Qualification Degree in Land Economy, Social Sciences, Humanities or related discipline. Driver’s License. Experience, Knowledge and Skills Ten (10) years’ experience in land access, land acquisition, community relations or related roles within the mining, energy or infrastructure sectors. Proven experience in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and agreement management. Experience working with local communities and traditional authorities is essential. Strong knowledge of land tenure systems, customary land rights, and relevant mining and land legislation. Up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to land access. Knowledge of safety, risk and compliance, and financial and cost management. Excellent stakeholder engagement and cross-functional leadership and communication skills. Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills. High level of integrity, cultural sensitivity, professionalism, sound judgment, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong organizational and documentation skills with risk management and assurance capability.
