About this role
Sales Director About the Opportunity ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Poland is looking for a commercially sharp, ambitious and hands-on Sales Director to join our local Leadership Team and help shape the next stage of profitable growth. We operate in an international B2B environment within a technical and solution-oriented industry. Building on strong market foundations, we are now entering an important phase of commercial transformation. This is not a maintenance role. It is an opportunity for someone who wants to build, challenge, improve and lead change. The role combines sales leadership, business development, commercial discipline, cross-functional cooperation and organizational development. It reports directly to the Managing Director of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Poland and is part of the local Leadership Team. The Mission The mission of the role is to transform commercial potential into measurable business results. The person joining will be expected to bring stronger focus, better structure and higher accountability into the commercial organization while keeping the business close to customers and market opportunities. The role will lead the sales organization, strengthen key customer relationships, improve pipeline and forecast discipline, support better pricing execution, and build stronger cooperation between sales, product management, marketing, customer operations, supply chain and finance. The ideal candidate is someone who is not satisfied with running the business as usual. They are curious, demanding, commercially hungry and comfortable operating in imperfect conditions. They can move from strategy to execution quickly, use data to make decisions, and bring people with them even when the direction requires change. Key Responsibilities 1. Lead Commercial Growth Develop and execute a focused commercial growth agenda across customer segments, channels and business areas. Deliver revenue growth, profitability, margin discipline and market development objectives. Identify where the business should grow, where it should focus, and where it needs to stop spending energy. Strengthen strategic customer relationships and convert opportunities into measurable business results. Lead major commercial opportunities, negotiations and business development initiatives. 2. Build Stronger Sales Discipline Improve the quality of sales planning, pipeline management, forecasting and opportunity follow-up. Create a clear rhythm of commercial performance management with transparent targets, actions and ownership. Drive CRM adoption, data quality and disciplined use of commercial tools. Improve forecast accuracy and make commercial decisions based on facts, not assumptions. Ensure pricing execution is followed through in the market and translated into margin improvement. 3. Transform the Commercial Organization Lead the commercial organization through change with clarity, energy and pragmatism. Build a culture of accountability, customer focus, performance and constructive challenge. Develop managers and future commercial leaders, not only sales results. Clarify roles, priorities and decision-making where the organization needs more structure. Balance ambition with realistic execution and create momentum without unnecessary complexity. 4. Connect Sales with the Rest of the Business Create stronger cooperation between sales, product management, marketing, customer operations, supply chain and finance. Make sure commercial priorities are understood and supported across the organization. Contribute to portfolio decisions, pricing priorities, customer segmentation and go-to-market choices. Improve the end-to-end customer journey by reducing internal friction and strengthening ownership. Act as a strong business partner to the Managing Director and Leadership Team. 5. Stay Close to the Market Stay close to customers, partners, sales teams and market signals. Understand what is really happening in the field and translate it into decisions and actions. Challenge internal assumptions with customer insight, competitive understanding and commercial logic. Represent the business externally with credibility, confidence and professionalism. What Success Looks Like In the first 12–18 months, success will mean: A clearer commercial growth agenda is in place and understood by the organization. Sales teams operate with stronger focus, better pipeline discipline and higher accountability. Forecasting, CRM usage and commercial reporting are more reliable and useful for decision-making. Pricing decisions and execution contribute visibly to margin improvement. Key customer relationships are stronger and strategic opportunities are actively developed. Commercial cooperation with product, marketing, operations, supply chain and finance is more effective. The organization feels more focused, more structured and more confident about where it is going. Candidate Profile Commercially strong leader with experience in B2B sales, business development, key account management, commercial excellence or sales transformation. Proven ability to grow revenue, improve margin and create stronger commercial discipline. Strong analytical thinking and ability to use data for commercial decisions. Hands-on leadership style, with the ability to work directly with teams and customers, not only through reports and presentations. Comfortable challenging existing habits and introducing new ways of working. Ability to lead people through change with clarity, directness and respect. Strong communication and influencing skills across functions and senior stakeholders. Experience leading teams, projects or cross-functional initiatives, with clear potential to grow into a broader senior leadership role. Ambition to develop toward broader regional, general management or senior commercial responsibility. Fluent English and Polish. Who Will Enjoy This Role This role will suit someone who likes building more than maintaining, who is energised by commercial challenges, and who can work with numbers and people equally well. It is for someone who wants to be close to the business, customers and teams, while also shaping strategy and organizational direction. The role may be less suitable for someone who prefers a fully mature organization, fixed processes, limited ambiguity or a position focused mainly on administration and reporting.
