Your new company We are currently recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the Bexhill area, working full-time within their Reception class. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and proactive Teaching Assistant who has strong EYFS experience and is comfortable supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within a mainstream classroom.
Your new role
Working alongside the Reception Class Teacher, you will provide general classroom support while taking particular responsibility for supporting pupils with additional needs. Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting children across the Reception classroom and EYFS curriculumProviding targeted support for pupils with SEN and additional needsHelping to manage and engage pupils within continuous provisionLeading small-group activities and interventionsSupporting the Class Teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroomEncouraging children's independence, confidence and engagementTaking a hands-on approach and using your own initiative throughout the school day
What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Previous experience within EYFS or a Reception classroomExperience supporting children with SEN or additional needsA good understanding of the routines and expectations within an Early Years environmentConfidence leading small-group interventionsA proactive attitude and the ability to work independentlyA caring, patient and positive approachThe ability to build strong relationships with pupils and staffAvailability to work full-time, Monday to Friday
