About this role
We are currently recruiting for a Caretaker / Handyman to join a well-established residential development in Northolt.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with previous caretaking, estate management or maintenance experience within a residential environment, who takes pride in maintaining high standards across a development and enjoys being a friendly point of contact for residents.
Working Hours Monday: 5:30am–1:30pmTuesday–Friday: 8:00am–4:00pm40 hours per weekThe early Monday start is required to ensure bins are put out for the council collection.
Key Responsibilities: Carry out daily inspections of the residential blocks and communal areasEnsure the development is free from rubbish and kept clean and tidyRotate and manage bins within the bin storesPut bins out for council collection on Monday morningsCarry out general repairs and maintenance across the developmentComplete weekly fire safety checks and maintain accurate recordsMeet and assist contractors attending siteIdentify and report defects and maintenance issuesAct as a friendly and professional point of contact for residentsEnsure communal areas and external spaces are maintained to a high standard
About You: Previous caretaking, handyman or maintenance experience within residential blocks is essentialGood general maintenance and practical repair skillsComfortable working at height and safely using laddersAble to complete basic fire safety and health & safety checksDBS check requiredFull UK driving licence would be advantageousAny relevant fire safety or health & safety training would be beneficialReliable, organised and able to work independentlyFriendly and approachable with good communication skillsMust be able to reliably get to site for 5:30am on Mondays
