About this role
We are supporting a leading defence organisation with the appointment of an Equipment Requirement Authority to join its Weapon Systems Equipment team. This role would suit a Systems or Design Engineer looking to move into technical project management, requirements management and certification within a complex engineering environment.
Typical responsibilities include:
Managing the technical status and progression of assigned engineering work packagesDefining clear and accurate equipment requirements and ensuring effective flow down into internal and external design teamsWorking with national and international Design Authorities to develop technical solutions and manage technical tradesDeveloping verification and validation strategies across electrical, mechanical, software and wider system propertiesPreparing certification evidence and facilitating the exchange of technical information between suppliers and procurement teams The ideal candidate will have:
An understanding of engineering design processes and their applicationKnowledge of high-integrity hardware, networking technologies, custom electronics or complex mechanical designExperience managing a small team or previous team leadership experienceThe ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to define technical solutionsAn understanding of commercial, military and safety standards relevant to engineering development This position offers a lucrative benefits package, which includes but is not limited to:
