My client is looking to recruit a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive with 1–5 years’ post-qualification experience to join our established and highly regarded Private Client department in Chichester.

They advise individuals and families on a wide range of private client matters, helping them to protect their assets, plan for the future and navigate difficult circumstances with confidence.

The role
You will manage a varied caseload of Private Client matters, providing clear, practical and commercially aware advice to clients at all stages of life. Your work will include:
Wills and estate planning: drafting wills, advising on testamentary arrangements and helping clients plan for the future.Lasting Powers of Attorney: advising on and preparing LPAs for property and financial affairs and health and welfare.Probate and estate administration: advising executors and administrators, obtaining grants of representation and administering estates from start to finish.Inheritance Tax and succession planning: advising on estate planning, tax implications and appropriate strategies for the preservation and transfer of wealth.Trusts: advising on the creation, administration and management of trusts, including relevant tax considerations.Court of Protection: assisting clients and families with deputyship applications and other matters arising where a person lacks mental capacity to manage their own affairs.Estate planning and related matters: identifying potential issues, including intestacy, variations of wills and estates, and the appropriate protection of family assets. You will have responsibility for delivering a high standard of client care, maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues and professional contacts, and managing your files efficiently and profitably.
About you
We are looking for someone who is technically competent, client-focused and keen to develop their career within a respected regional firm.
You will ideally have:
1–5 years’ post-qualification experience as a Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive in Private Client work.Experience of managing your own caseload across a range of wills, probate and estate administration matters.A sound understanding of the relevant legal and tax principles, with a willingness to develop your expertise in more complex matters.Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to explain legal issues clearly and sensitively.A professional, approachable manner and a genuine commitment to achieving the best outcomes for clients.The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.A proactive attitude towards business development and building strong client relationships. We recognise that candidates will have different strengths and levels of experience.
