About the Business
An exciting opportunity to join an established services business in Redditch as an Accounts Assistant, paying £28,000 – £35,000 depending on experience. This is a brilliant role, with hybrid working and study support, for someone at the start of their finance career who wants broad, hands-on experience across the accounts function, with a supportive team behind you and backing to work towards a finance qualification.
Main Duties:
As an Accounts Assistant, your main duties include:
Reconciling the company’s bank accounts, including foreign currency accounts, keeping them accurate and up to dateHelping with the month-end close, including accruals, prepayments, expense and fixed asset reconciliationsAllocating incoming customer receipts and raising sales invoices as neededHandling supplier invoices, staff expenses and payment runs across the groupKeeping the purchase, sales and nominal ledgers accurate and well maintainedAssisting with chasing outstanding customer balances and resolving supplier queriesGetting involved in reporting, finance administration and one-off projects across the department Location / Office / Culture

What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Good Excel skills, including formulas and working with dataStrong numeracy and confidence handling financial informationExcellent organisation and accuracy, with the ability to manage a busy workloadClear communication skills and comfort following up on queriesA team-first attitude and flexibility around month-end deadlinesPrevious accounts experience, a finance-related degree or studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA is a bonus – but not essential Why Join the business
