Purchase Ledger Assistant Location: West London Contract: Permanent Salary: £30,000-£32,000
A renowned arts organisation is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Ledger Assistant to join its Finance team.
This is a great opportunity to join a busy finance function, supporting the smooth running of day-to-day financial operations through accurate invoice processing, supplier payments and reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities: Process purchase ledger invoices, ensuring they are accurately coded, matched to purchase orders and appropriately authorised.Manage weekly payment runs and ensure suppliers are paid on time.Reconcile supplier statements and respond to invoice and payment queries from suppliers and internal stakeholders.Process employee expenses and other payment requests, including BACS, CHAPS and international transfers.Carry out month-end analysis of purchase ledger balances, including aged creditor reporting.Prepare monthly reports on payment days and late invoice payments.Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including purchase ledger, petty cash and other control accounts.Ensure all payments comply with internal authorisation procedures. Key Skills & Qualifications: Previous experience in a purchase ledger role within a busy finance team is essential.A good understanding of debits, credits and reconciliations.Experience creating and reviewing payment runs.Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and effectively under pressure.Strong organisational skills and a thorough approach to ensuring invoices and purchase orders are correctly matched and coded.Good IT skills, particularly in Excel, with the ability to navigate finance systems and extract information.A strong team player with a professional approach, good communication skills and a genuine interest in developing broader accounting skills.
