Position: Kitchen Assistant
Salary: £13.27 per hour
Contract: Temporary (covering long-term sickness absence)
Location: CV5 area, Coventry primary school
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 11:00am to 2:00pm
Company introduction: A welcoming primary school in Coventry is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join its catering team immediately. The school currently has a number of staff supporting the kitchen and has built a strong team bond, so they are looking for a reliable team player who will fit well within the existing team.
Kitchen Assistant duties include:
Serving hot and cold food to pupils and staffAssisting with food preparationLoading and unloading the dishwasherCleaning kitchen surfaces and work areasMopping floors and maintaining cleanliness standardsFollowing food allergy awareness proceduresWorking alongside other team members and supporting daily kitchen operations Kitchen Assistant person specification:
Good team player with a positive attitudeAble to work in a busy kitchen environmentAwareness of food hygiene and food safety practicesReliable and able to start immediately Other essential skills and experience needed –
Enhanced DBS clearance preferredCandidates without a current enhanced DBS can be put through the DBS process through ReedFood hygiene awareness training or previous food hygiene knowledge preferred or willing to complete a Food Hygiene Course through ReedPrevious experience in a restaurant, catering environment, or similar setting would be beneficial About the team
The school has a supportive catering team with a strong sense of teamwork. You will always have assistance available and will not be expected to work alone.
