Location: Luton, Bedfordshire Pay: £165-£245 per day, depending on qualifications and experience Subject: KS3 and KS4 English
Prospero Teaching is seeking an English Teacher for a secondary school in Luton.
The role involves helping students become more confident readers, develop their written responses and build the skills needed for GCSE English Language and Literature. We are looking for someone who can set clear expectations while making lessons engaging and accessible to pupils with different starting points.
Your responsibilities will include:
Planning and teaching English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Developing pupils' vocabulary, reading fluency, comprehension and extended writing.
Teaching students how to analyse texts, structure arguments and answer examination questions.
Using assessment to identify where students need additional explanation or practice.
Adapting resources and teaching strategies for pupils with SEND and EAL.
Managing behaviour consistently and contributing to the work of the English department.
We are looking for:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.
Relevant experience teaching secondary English.
Knowledge of GCSE English Language and English Literature.
The ability to explain challenging concepts clearly and support learners of different abilities.
Good organisation, reliable assessment practices and a commitment to safeguarding.
