Are you a confident, enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisor looking for flexible work in secondary schools?
We are working with a number of secondary schools across Waltham Forest that are looking for reliable, confident and experienced Cover Supervisors to provide daily supply cover.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with young people, have strong classroom management skills and are looking for flexible work that fits around their availability.
Whether you are looking for full-time daily supply, a few days per week or occasional bookings, we would love to hear from you!
The successful candidates will supervise classes across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering pre-planned lessons in the absence of the regular class teacher and ensuring students remain engaged and focused on their learning.
The Role
Supervising classes across Key Stages 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacherDelivering pre-prepared lesson plans and ensuring students complete the work setManaging classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environmentSupporting students with their learning and answering general questionsEncouraging students to remain focused, engaged and motivatedFollowing school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and behaviour managementProviding feedback to teaching staff following lessonsWorking across a variety of subjects and year groupsBuilding positive relationships with students and school staffAdapting confidently to different school environments and classroom settings The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary schoolExperience as a Cover Supervisor, Teaching Assistant, Behaviour Mentor or in a similar school-based role would be advantageousConfident managing groups of secondary-aged studentsStrong classroom management and communication skillsCalm, resilient and able to manage challenging behaviourFlexible, reliable and adaptable to different school environmentsAble to follow lesson plans and school procedures effectivelyA positive and proactive approach to supporting young peoplePassionate about education and helping students achieve their potentialGraduates considering a career in teaching are also encouraged to apply Why Apply?
