Associate Director - Retail Architecture @ Egis Group

The Associate Director is responsible for achieving excellence in design while at all times representing 10 and its design philosophy to the highest quality standard. They are required to act as a primary point of contact to clients and external consultants for all design related issues. The role also involves managing the architecture team, and coordinating with all other disciplines to ensure an appropriate, high quality architectural product is delivered on time and within the outline budget. This role requires a retail specialist with proven experience delivering innovative retail environments across Asia and internationally, with a forward-thinking approach to evolving retail trends.

Design

Create and develop the design philosophy and vision of the CompanyEnsure consistent high quality of design generated throughout the CompanyProvide design direction and attend all key design discussions during project executionIdentify trends and future design directions with a particular focus on emerging retail trends across Asia and global marketsReview key design deliverables with the teamPresent the design at key meetingsEnsure submittal of appropriate projects for design review awardsDemonstrate understanding of evolving retail models and experiential / mixed-use retail projects / Retail renovationProject Management Responsibilities

Define and implement processes and measures to ensure an appropriate level of client satisfaction is provided to clients at all timesCommit to, and promote “Design Excellence” for all assignments / projectsDefine and implement processes and measures to ensure profitability of planning and design assignments is deliveredMonitor and adjust resourcing plans to ensure adequate staff are resourced to meet the needs of the business​​​​​​​Management Responsibilities

Responsible for selecting and motivating team members and working with them to establish clear goals in line with the company objectivesResponsible for the performance management of the team, including documenting annual performance reviews and development plansTo ensure an annual training plan is developed and implemented for the teamTo deal with any poor performance issues as and when required Promote a learning culture within the team and encourage professional development​​​​​​​Business Development

In consultation with key stakeholders, define the business strategyActively contribute to the winning of new business, and to drive the development of new business opportunities in line with agreed business goalsTo actively participate in strategic market programs, client development efforts, and key strategic affiliationsResponsible for pre-selected / targeted clients and prospects and to assume primary client relationship prior to and including sales / closing effortsLeverage relationships with key sector clients, knowledge of retail market trends, key operators and brands across Asia and internationally to inform client strategies and opportunities​​​​​​​General

Support the continuous improvement processes and practice within the office and across the groupTo carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the role Degree educated – RIBA Parts 1, 2 and 3 or equivalentRegistered architect – ARB or equivalent in country of originRIBA or equivalent membership preferredProject Management experience preferredExcellent design skillsKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook)Excellent command of written and spoken EnglishMandarin Chinese and Cantonese are highly desirableExperience

Strong proven experienceExperience acting in a management position within a consultancyDemonstrated experience in retail-led and mixed-use developments Previous experience in an office environment working as part of a team is preferred
