We're recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing manufacturing business seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead the people function across multiple sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HR professional who enjoys building strong relationships, supporting operational managers, and driving best practice across all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
While the role does include responsibility for Health & Safety compliance, the primary focus is on delivering a high-quality, operational HR service to the business.
The Role
As HR Manager, you will act as the trusted HR lead for the organisation, supporting managers and employees across a diverse workforce. You'll have the autonomy to shape HR processes, ensure compliance with employment legislation, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the business.
Key Responsibilities
Providing day-to-day HR advice and guidance to managersManaging employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance issuesSupporting recruitment activities and onboarding processesReviewing and updating HR policies and proceduresEnsuring compliance with employment legislation and HR best practiceSupporting employee engagement, retention and wellbeing initiativesMaintaining accurate HR records and systemsPartnering with management teams to support business objectivesIdentifying opportunities to improve people processes and practices Health & Safety
Alongside HR responsibilities, you will also oversee key Health & Safety activities, including:
Coordinating and reviewing risk assessmentsSupporting audits and compliance requirementsMonitoring accident and near-miss reportingEnsuring policies and procedures remain compliant with current legislationPromoting a positive health and safety culture across the business About You
We're looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being hands-on, visible within the business, and confident managing a wide range of people issues.
Essential Experience
Previous experience in a standalone HR Manager or Senior HR Generalist roleStrong employee relations knowledge and experienceSound understanding of UK employment lawExperience supporting operational or manufacturing environmentsAbility to build credibility and influence at all levelsComfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of the HR function Desirable
Health & Safety experience, including risk assessments and complianceIOSH qualification or similar Health & Safety trainingManufacturing, production, logistics or FMCG sector experience The Person
