About this role
Teachers are entrusted with advancing the mission of Jefferson RISE. Reporting to the Director of Special Education, the Special Education Math Teacher is responsible for the development and execution of a standards-aligned curriculum, continuous improvement of his or her instructional practices based on feedback and support, and collaboration on areas of instructional and/or curricular need at the school. Working specifically with Special Education students, this teacher will work directly with the Director of Special Education to ensure the needs of all students are met. Special Education teachers will be held accountable by the Director of Special Education in regard to their performance and growth, student achievement, and quality of curriculum. The Special Education Math Teacher is a full-time position with an immediate start date.
Education and Certification:
· Bachelor’s degree
· Degree in content area (preferred)
· Content area certification in special education (preferred)
Experience and Skills:
· Technological proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
· Excellent communication skills
· High level of personal organization and planning
· Proven track record of student achievement and/or growth
