Requirements: BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or higher.Minimum 3 years experience in multidisciplinary system integration covering hardware, firmware and software.Experience defining test plans and test design documentation.Experience debugging complex embedded systems.Experience with protocol testing over RF and wired interfaces.Ability to understand complex IoT systems, including RF communications and hardware interfaces.Experience troubleshooting using standard test equipment.Strong technical comprehension and ability to quickly understand new terms, technologies and concepts.Hands-on experience with test definition, test setup ramp-up and failure debugging.Desirable: Experience testing GPS systems.Desirable: Experience with RF communication technologies such as BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE-M and LoRa.Desirable: Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure for IoT devices.Desirable: Experience using the Atlassian suite and/or Azure DevOps.Desirable: Coding capabilities, particularly Python. Responsibilities: Define detailed test plans and test cases.Define testing setups and take a hands-on approach to their creation and implementation.Execute manual testing and produce clear test reports.Perform hands-on debugging of complex systems, particularly embedded and electronics aspects of the wider solution.Work closely with multidisciplinary Product and Platform teams, including system engineering, embedded software, hardware, integration, backend and frontend teams.Work effectively within a multi-site, matrix organisation.Quickly understand new technologies, concepts and technical constraints.Contribute to a structured and systematic approach to testing, integration and failure investigation. We are seeking a hands-on System Integration & Test Engineer for a contract opportunity within a multidisciplinary Product and Platform team working on complex embedded and IoT systems. The role is based in Cambridge, with three days per week on site, for an initial one-year term with a possible extension. The hourly rate is flexible. This role does not offer sponsorship; applicants must have valid UK work authorization and be able to commute to Cambridge three days per week. The engineer will collaborate with teams across the UK and overseas.
