Salary: £35,000 - 45,000 per year
Requirements: Demonstrable knowledge of installing and commissioning Access Control, Intercom, and CCTV systems.Demonstrable knowledge of Structured Cabling Systems.Previous experience in the electronic security sector.Understanding of interfacing requirements between Access Control systems and CCTV, Building Intelligence, and building life safety systems.Knowledge of open-protocol and closed-protocol systems.Good working knowledge of IP networking and its application to IP-based security systems.Good knowledge of basic electrical principles, including measuring voltage and current drain.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when completing documentation.Good IT competence.Working knowledge of current and prevalent Access Control and CCTV standards.Flexibility regarding work locations and times.UK Driving Licence.CSCS / ECS Card.Industry-recognised training and certification in Access Control systems.Industry-recognised training or proven experience in the design of Access Control systems.Industry-recognised training and certification in CCTV systems.Industry-recognised training or proven experience in the design of CCTV systems.High technical understanding and proven experience in IP networking, including switching, routing, and wireless.Proven experience and/or industry-recognised training with other intelligent building technologies, such as CCTV, Intelligent Lighting, HVAC, and Energy Management.Experience working to NACOSS NSI Gold Standards. Responsibilities: Install and commission Access Control, Intercom, and CCTV systems.Maintain and respond to fault calls for Access Control, Intercom, and CCTV systems.Install and test Structured Cabling Systems.Interpret and understand proposal documents, schematics, and drawings.Complete work-related documentation accurately and promptly, including test results, commissioning information, drawings, and O&M information.Maintain high-quality workmanship and clear, accurate documentation.Self-audit completed work.Coordinate with other systems and subcontractors, including Building Intelligence, Fire and Intruder Alarm services, and other life safety systems.Complete internal documentation required under the employment contract.Follow our health and safety standards.Assist in other areas of our business as needed. The Security Engineer role sits within our Enterprise Services team and involves working with security systems and the infrastructure that supports them. We pride ourselves on the quality of our installations and customer engagement. As a customer-facing operative, you are expected to provide customer service in keeping with our standards, communicate clearly with internal and external contacts, and follow our processes for work documentation and internal systems. The role may also involve installing network infrastructure or supporting structured cabling work elsewhere in our business, with flexibility around work location and times.
