Salary: £45,000 - 55,000 per year
Requirements: Strong understanding of the OSI model, particularly layers 2 and 3, networking theory, and a range of manufacturers equipmentDemonstrable knowledge of designing network architectures, including switches, routers, and firewallsDemonstrable knowledge of designing wireless networks for user access and backhaul technologies, such as PtP and PtMP bridgesWorking knowledge of structured cabling systemsExperience using design tools such as MS Visio to support design proposalsExperience designing networks for applications such as Data, VoIP, IPSec, HVAC, BMS, and EMSUnderstanding and experience with networking elements including QoS, DNS, DHCP, Radius, TACACS, SNMP, and TCP/IP, and how they may be incorporated into network designsExcellent attention to detail and accuracy when completing documentationWorking knowledge of current and prevalent standards for network architecture and wireless networkingExcellent customer-facing mannerFlexible approach to working location and timesFull UK Driving LicenceDesirable: Industry-recognised wireless or networking training and certification, such as CCNA or JNCIA, or equivalentDesirable: Excellent understanding of Juniper, Cisco, and HP/Aruba product rangesDesirable: Degree-level educational award in an IT-related discipline Responsibilities: Liaise with Senior Account Managers, Technical Account Managers, and Estimators to produce high-quality, detailed designs and proposals aligned with client requirements and our commercial expectationsConduct detailed site surveys of wireless and IP network installations in line with our proceduresProduce detailed design packs from concept for our company and customersLiaise with the Bid Team to support detailed technical tender responses and design proposals for new businessApply for project pricing and liaise with our supply chain to help provide clients with suitable solutionsComplete pre-staging and configuration of network equipment when requiredAct as a point of contact for Operations, responding to queries about scope of works and providing solutions to support installationSupport our wider design team with other design tasks as required Technologies: ArubaCiscoSupportNetworkTCP/IP More:

The role covers the specification, design, and pre-installation handover of physical networking technologies—including wireless access and backhaul equipment, switches, routers, and firewalls—as well as configuration specifications such as IP addressing, VLANs, and VPNs.
