Job summary
This is a newly established role in the Trust. The job holder will be the team leader for managed supply streams within the hospitals. the role will initially concentrate on Wycombe General Hospital. The managed store activities will expand to our Stoke Mandeville site as well, and in the future possible to other larger sites within the Trust. The role holder will have an important role in shaping the way of working and making the introduction of our newly acquired Inventory Management System a success. The role holder will be instrumental in making this a success and will to a large degree be able to shape the team for the inventroy management.
Main duties of the job
Lead the Supply Chain team as a senior leader.
Set and monitor individual and team objectives, and conduct annual appraisals and one-to-ones for direct reports.
Ensure that the Trust's objectives are reflected in the work delivered by the team.
Deputise for the Assistant Head of Procurement as required.
Hold overall responsibility for the stores managed by Procurement and Supplies, as well as an advisory function for stores areas managed elsewhere in the Trust.
Negotiate with ward and department managers to determine and agree stock holding and product ranges, ensuring cost-effectiveness and consistency with product selection
Ensure that processes are in place for all wards and departments to be stocked to agreed top-up levels.
Plan materials management schedules and operating procedures to ensure optimum use of staff time and a consistent approach to service provision across the Trust.
Ensure processes are in place to identify and manage expiring or out-of-date stock, and to handle stock returns with suppliers
Summarised the main duties are Team leadership, Ownership of and maintenance of the Inventory Management System and Improve or optimise supply operations within the Trust.
We are looking for a candidate with Logisitcs and stock management experience. Ideally with NHS or activities with clinical background

2.EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential
Educated to degree level, or equivalent significant experience in a supply chain, logistics or procurement environment. Professional qualification such as a CIPS Diploma (or working towards), or equivalent relevant experience.
Desirable
Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
3.EXPERIENCE Essential
Significant experience of stock control, inventory or supply chain management, ideally within a large and complex organisation Experience of operating and configuring an inventory management system, warehouse management system or comparable stock control/ERP system. Extensive, demonstrable experience of effectively managing, developing and appraising a team.
Desirable
Experience of setting, monitoring and reporting against key performance indicators for a stores, logistics or supply chain operation. Experience of negotiating with suppliers on delivery, service and stock-related matters Good knowledge of NHS Trust (or equivalent public sector) procurement and supply chain processes Experience of producing management information and reports for senior stakeholders. Experience of working in the NHS or wider health sector.
4.SKILLS, ABILITIES & KNOWLEDGE Essential
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to drive and motivate teams and manage conflict constructively. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret stock, usage and performance data to inform decisions. Strong influencing and negotiation skills. Confident, credible communicator, able to liaise with suppliers, clinical teams and senior stakeholders. Intermediate-to-advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office and stock/inventory management systems. Stron written and verbal communication skills in English
Desirable
Ability to manage own and others' workload under a range of competing deadlines from multiple sources. Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels of the organisation.
