Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursing Associate to join the North East Wandsworth Integrated Recovery Hub (IRH), a busy and supportive community mental health team providing care to adults with complex mental health needs.

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and recovery-focused individual who is passionate about supporting people to live well within their communities. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care and play an important role in supporting service users throughout their recovery journey.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a forward-thinking service that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement. You will receive regular supervision and support, alongside opportunities for learning and professional development within a large NHS mental health organisation.

Main duties of the job

As a Nursing Associate within the Integrated Recovery Hub, you will work closely with service users, carers and colleagues across the multidisciplinary team to support the delivery of recovery-focused mental health care in community settings.

You will be an effective communicator with the ability to build positive therapeutic relationships and engage individuals with diverse needs. The successful candidate will demonstrate compassion, professionalism and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care, while contributing positively to team working and service development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Nursing Associate who enjoys working in the community, values collaborative working and is looking to further develop their skills within adult mental health services.

Person Specification

Education & Qualification Essential

Registered Nursing Associate on the NMC register. Nursing Associate foundation degree qualification. English and Mathematics basic qualifications (e.g. GCSE at Grade C or above, New GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths and English Language or evidence of Level 2 in Functional skills for numeracy and literacy).

Experience & Knowledge Essential

Understanding of the scope of the role of the Nursing Associate in context of the nursing and interdisciplinary team and the organisation, and how the role may contribute to service development Understands and acts in line with NMC professional standards for practice contained within The Code. Knowledge of when to seek advice and escalate to the appropriate professional for expert help and advice.

Desirable

Experience in different clinical care settings. Experience in supervision of staff. Lived experience of mental health.

Knowledge & Skills Essential

Ability to develop effective and appropriate relationships with people, their families, carers and colleagues. Able to plan and co-ordinate and prioritise own and team work within a shift system. Communications skills - receiving and conveying sensitive information, with staff and with service users and able to keep accurate records. Knowing when to escalate concerns and to whom

Desirable

Vital Signs, Phlebotomy Experience in facilitating groups.
