Job Title: Production Technician PackagingJob DescriptionThe Packaging Technician plays a key role in supporting visual inspection, secondary packaging, and tertiary packaging activities for parenteral products at various stages of development at a modern manufacturing site in Nashville, TN. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the qualification and start-up of a new aseptic formulation and filling facility, helping to establish a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation. The Packaging Technician performs visual inspection and packaging activities in strict compliance with regulatory requirements, current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).Responsibilities
• Perform visual inspection of vials, syringes, IV bags, cream containers, and other parenteral products to identify defects and ensure product quality. • Carry out secondary and tertiary packaging operations for parenteral products in accordance with cGMP, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. • Set up and operate packaging equipment, including labelers, cartoning equipment, and serialization stations, ensuring proper configuration and safe operation. • Document all packaging and inspection activities accurately within batch records, protocols, and other required documentation. • Ensure packaging operations meet or exceed site safety, quality, and compliance metrics while consistently adhering to site standards and policies. • Support equipment validation and qualification activities for packaging equipment and associated systems. • Assist with training activities related to packaging processes, equipment use, and cGMP requirements. • Help troubleshoot packaging equipment and process issues to minimize downtime and maintain productivity. • Assist Maintenance personnel with preventive maintenance and calibration activities related to packaging equipment. • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for the packaging area, including participation in investigations and implementation of CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions). • Follow all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and safety guidelines during daily operations. • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments in a fast-paced, regulated manufacturing environment. • Maintain clean, organized, and compliant work areas within the packaging and inspection environment. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of experience working in a pharmaceutical, production, or other regulated environment is preferred. • Previous experience in visual inspection, sterile packaging, clinical trial packaging, or related manufacturing activities is preferred. • Demonstrated ability to perform detailed visual inspection of pharmaceutical products such as vials, syringes, IV bags, and cream containers. • Good documentation skills with the ability to complete batch records and other regulated documents accurately and legibly. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards. • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with colleagues across functions. • Good interpersonal skills with a professional, cooperative approach to communication. • Self-motivated with strong learning agility and the ability to quickly absorb new procedures and technologies. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while maintaining compliance with cGMP and SOPs. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Comfort working in a GMP-regulated, cleanroom or controlled environment. • Experience in general production, packaging, or inspection roles in a regulated setting. • Experience as a pharmacy technician or similar role in a healthcare or pharmaceutical environment. • Familiarity with GMP requirements and cleanroom practices. • Experience documenting activities in batch records, protocols, or other regulated documentation systems. • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives, investigations, and CAPA processes in a manufacturing or packaging environment. • Ability to support equipment validation, qualification, training, and troubleshooting activities. • Comfort assisting with preventive maintenance and calibration activities for production or packaging equipment. Work is performed in a GMP-compliant, cleanroom or controlled environment with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to SOPs. Packaging technicians work with modern equipment such as labelers, cartoning machines, and serialization stations, and are expected to follow all site standards and policies. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; 2nd shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., Monday through Friday; and 3rd shift runs from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., Sunday through Thursday. The facility promotes a professional, well-organized environment designed to support high-quality aseptic formulation, filling, inspection, and packaging operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
