Job Title: Facilities Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Facilities Maintenance Technician provides routine and specialized repair and maintenance support for hospital buildings, equipment, and properties. This role uses a computerized maintenance management system to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues across mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and control systems, ensuring a safe, reliable, and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors.Responsibilities
• Perform routine and specialized maintenance and repair on hospital buildings, equipment, and properties using a computerized maintenance management system. • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems, including pumps, belt drives, gear reduction drives, piping, valves, and related components. • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for water distribution and wastewater disposal. • Install, test, maintain, and diagnose electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, components, and systems. • Maintain and repair control systems, including sensors, limit switches, solenoids, motors, and related automation components. • Perform HVAC-related maintenance, including work on air handlers, cooling towers, HVAC systems, and building automation systems. • Conduct general building and facilities maintenance, including carpentry, lighting, pneumatics, and other facility-related repairs. • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks to reduce equipment downtime and extend the life of facility systems. • Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff on the repair, operation, and proper use of facility equipment, components, and utilities. • Use computerized systems to document work orders, track maintenance activities, and update equipment records accurately. • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and utility systems, and implement effective solutions. • Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, following all safety procedures and protocols. • Attend educational opportunities and related training to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and skills. • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team to complete maintenance tasks and respond to service requests. • Support hospital operations by working nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed to ensure continuous facility reliability. Essential Skills
• Proficiency in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance, including maintenance management and documentation. • Strong troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repair skills for mechanical, electrical, and utility systems. • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong problem-solving abilities. • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical documentation. • Experience with electrical systems, including installation, testing, maintenance, and diagnosis of wiring, equipment, and fixtures. • Experience with plumbing systems, including installing, repairing, and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and wastewater systems. • Experience with mechanical systems such as pumps, belt drives, gear reduction drives, piping, and valves. • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills. • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with flexibility for overtime. • Ability to provide technical support and guidance to facility staff on equipment repair and operation. • Experience in facility maintenance within a hospital or similar complex environment. • Hands-on experience in HVAC systems, including air handlers, cooling towers, and building automation systems. • Skills in general building maintenance, including carpentry, lighting, pneumatics, and general service and repair. • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices for facility and mechanical systems. • Comfort working with computerized maintenance management systems. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety programs and procedures. • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities. The Facilities Maintenance Technician works primarily Monday through Friday on an overnight shift from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with a standard schedule of approximately 40 hours per week. The position requires the ability to work weekends, holidays, and significant overtime as needed to maintain continuous facility reliability. Work involves regular use of tools and equipment related to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and building automation systems, and adherence to hospital safety and operational protocols is essential. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Worth, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
