About this role

Job Title: Production TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Vaccine Production and R&D Technician/Scientist will support the Kirkland team in producing vet exempt vaccines and assist in developing new vaccines. The role involves contributing to microbiological work, including diagnostic analysis and R&D related to fish health.Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of vaccines and batching processes. • Follow production procedures to ensure compliance with QA/QC requirements, protocols, and standard operating procedures. • Improve vaccine production efficiencies. • Collaborate with other production sites and aid in production planning. • Support R&D activities relevant to vaccine development, including viral and plasmid vaccines. • Develop new bacterial and viral cell cultures for vaccine production. • Maintain laboratory equipment and manage clean room environments. • Participate and present at fish health conferences nationally and globally as needed. • Aid field personnel with sample collection and submission. • Engage in all aspects of company products and services as needed. • Collaborate with aquaculture diagnosticians and veterinarians as required. • Enhance skills in microbiology, virology, and fish diagnostics. • Perform general office tasks, including phone handling and report preparation. • Assist with shipping products to customers from the Kirkland production site. Essential Skills

• Experience in production, chemistry, laboratory work, and lab equipment handling. • Experience in molecular biology, immunology, virology, and microbiology. • Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, or virology. • Experience in growing organisms in a lab environment. • Proficiency in aseptic techniques. • Interest in aquatic and animal healthcare. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in commercial plasmid production. • Experience in bacterial and viral culture techniques. • Knowledge of fish health diagnostics. • Advanced graduate degree in microbiology, molecular biology, immunology, or virology. • Basic statistical knowledge for clinical trials. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
