Job Title: Framing Carpenter Modular Building UnitsJob DescriptionThis role focuses on framing modular building units in a manufacturing environment. You will use hand and power tools to perform rough and finish carpentry, interpret measurements and building plans, and contribute to the construction of high-quality modular structures as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities • Perform framing work on modular building units, ensuring structures are square, level, and built to specification. • Carry out both rough and finish carpentry tasks as required throughout the construction process. • Accurately read and interpret tape measurements to cut and assemble materials to exact dimensions. • Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete daily tasks. • Read and understand building schematics and blueprints to follow construction plans and layout requirements. • Work on your feet for the entire shift, including climbing ladders and accessing elevated work areas as needed. • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. • Collaborate with team members and other trades to meet production goals and project timelines. • Inspect completed work for quality and adherence to specifications, making adjustments or repairs as needed. • Assist with general labor tasks related to modular construction, such as material handling and basic assembly work. Essential Skills • Prior experience in framing carpentry, including rough framing of structures. • Prior finish carpentry experience, such as trim, doors, or interior finishes. • Proficiency in using a tape measure accurately for cutting and layout. • Hands-on experience with common hand tools and power tools used in construction and carpentry. • Ability to read and interpret building schematics and blueprints. • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, and construction materials. • Ability to stand for an entire shift and safely climb ladders and work at heights as required. • Strong teamwork skills and ability to work effectively within a crew in a production environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in commercial construction environments. • Background in general labor or construction support roles. • Experience working as a framer or carpenter on modular or prefabricated structures. • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and production priorities. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Work EnvironmentWork takes place in a modular building manufacturing facility within a covered building that does not have air conditioning or heat, so temperatures will reflect the outdoor climate. The environment is production-oriented, with ongoing construction activity and use of hand and power tools. You will spend most of the day on your feet, moving between workstations, handling materials, and climbing ladders as needed. Standard construction attire and appropriate personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety on the floor. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Aumsville, OR. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
