The position is hourly with overtime opportunities and requires extensive travel on a rotational basis. Responsibilities • Install and terminate new low-voltage electrical infrastructure including conduit, cable tray, underground duct bank, cable, wire, and 480 V building and feeder work. • Perform hands-on work on 415 V and/or 480 V systems such as switchgear, busway, PDUs/UPS, main switchboards (MSBs), and grounding systems. • Build, pull, land, torque, and energize new electrical equipment from construction drawings, one-line diagrams, manuals, and work packages, then turn completed systems over to operations. • Follow NFPA 70E requirements and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, including MV switching and clearance practices in accordance with OSHA 1910.269. • Support first energization of new 480 V systems by applying proper grounding and safety protocols. • Install medium-voltage infrastructure including e-house medium-voltage switchgear (MVSG), generator step-up transformers (GSUs), 15 kV and 35 kV cable, and duct bank for campus systems at 12.47 kV, 13.8 kV, and 34.5 kV. • Support hipot and very low frequency (VLF) testing of medium-voltage cable and equipment and work adjacent to live campus buses while maintaining strict safety practices. • Use construction blueprints, schematics, and work packages to plan and execute electrical installations and terminations accurately and efficiently. • Operate and maintain proficiency with common electrical test tools such as multimeters, meggers, and ammeters, as well as construction hand and power tools. • Work as part of an internal construction team, mobilizing with project teams to active data-center construction sites and moving with the work as new facilities come online. • Perform physical construction work including lifting 50+ lbs, working at heights and in confined spaces, and working outdoors in all weather conditions. • Work nights, weekends, and extended shifts as required during construction and energization phases to meet project schedules. • Travel 80% or more on a construction rotation, adhering to site-specific requirements and making effective use of per diem and housing arrangements.
