OT Required when needed Friday and Saturdays Job DescriptionThe Industrial Maintenance Technician installs, repairs, and maintains industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, with a strong focus on preventive maintenance and troubleshooting. This role supports production operations by diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, performing repairs, and ensuring equipment reliability and safety in a steel yard environment.Responsibilities
• Install, repair, and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment by performing scheduled and preventive maintenance activities. • Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate sources of problems and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. • Dismantle machinery and remove, repair, or replace defective parts and components as needed. • Inspect and measure parts and components to determine changes in requirements and identify necessary adjustments or replacements. • Troubleshoot and repair CNC controls, modules, servo drives, and related components. • Perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs on industrial equipment. • Maintain accurate inventories of equipment parts and supplies by checking stock levels and placing orders when needed. • Train production workers on routine preventive mechanical maintenance procedures and answer maintenance-related questions and requests. • Prepare clear and detailed maintenance reports documenting work performed, findings, and recommendations. • Conduct fleet and forklift maintenance and repair as required, including engines, transmissions, and diesel equipment. • Perform diagnostic work on engines and heavy equipment to identify root causes of mechanical issues. • Carry out maintenance repair and service tasks to ensure equipment operates safely and efficiently. • Lift and move heavy parts and equipment, up to 50 lbs, in a safe manner. • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following established procedures, rules, and regulations. • Read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation to support maintenance and repair activities. Essential Skills
• Hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, including preventive maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment. • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in mechanical repair of engines, transmissions, and heavy equipment. • Ability to troubleshoot and repair CNC controls, modules, servo drives, and related components. • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, including PLC troubleshooting. • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems and their maintenance and repair. • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform effective repairs. • Experience with forklift repair, fleet maintenance, and diesel engine maintenance. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents. • Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial environments, including diagnosis and maintenance repair. • Good written and verbal communication skills for reporting and training purposes. • Ability to lift and move parts and equipment up to 50 lbs safely. • Must provide own tools suitable for industrial maintenance work. The schedule follows a 4x10 structure, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with overtime available on Fridays as needed. The environment is hands-on and physically active, involving regular lifting, moving of parts and equipment, and working in and around large machines and vehicles. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
