About this role

Job Title: Journeyman Electrician Commercial SolarJob DescriptionThis role supports the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including rooftop, canopy, and carport installations. You perform electrical work in accordance with NEC standards, project specifications, and safety requirements while collaborating closely with project managers, foremen, and field crews to deliver high-quality, code-compliant solar projects.Responsibilities

• Install, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial solar electrical systems for rooftop, canopy, and carport applications. • Run conduit, bend conduit, pull wire, and terminate conductors to support solar PV installations. • Install switchgear, inverters, combiner boxes, and related electrical equipment according to project specifications and NEC standards. • Read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics to plan and execute work accurately. • Perform electrical testing, commissioning, and quality control inspections to verify system performance and safety. • Ensure all work complies with NEC, local electrical codes, and company standards while following all safety requirements. • Coordinate daily activities with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades to meet project schedules and milestones. • Maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all jobsite safety policies and procedures. • Use electrical testing equipment, hand tools, and power tools effectively and safely during installation and maintenance tasks. Essential Skills

• At least 6 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction. • Strong understanding of electrical systems and NEC code requirements. • Demonstrated knowledge of safe electrical work practices and jobsite safety standards. • Proficiency in conduit installation and conduit bending for commercial applications. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, one-line diagrams, and electrical schematics. • Skilled in installing and terminating conductors, switchgear, inverters, and combiner boxes. • Proficient with electrical testing equipment and standard hand and power tools used in electrical construction. • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Willingness and ability to travel to different project sites as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with commercial solar PV systems, including rooftop, canopy, and carport installations. • Experience in construction environments and collaboration with multiple trades. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, code-compliant work. • Ability to maintain an organized work area and follow company procedures and safety policies. • Effective communication skills for coordinating with site supervisors, foremen, project managers, and field crews. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $40.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
