Job Title: General LaborerJob DescriptionThis General Laborer role supports critical environmental cleaning services on active construction sites for data centers. You will perform ongoing construction cleaning and final cleaning of interior and exterior surfaces, working closely alongside other trades in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment.Responsibilities
• Clean all exposed interior surfaces within the construction area from the floor to the building deck above. • Perform detailed cleaning tasks such as mopping, wiping, vacuuming, and brushing surfaces to remove dust and dirt from materials as they are built and installed. • Use equipment such as scissor lifts, boom poles, brooms, and towels to reach and clean high and difficult areas. • Remain alert and aware at all times while working in and around active construction zones and heavy equipment. • Pressure wash exterior panels once installed, as well as generator coverings and flooring. • Clean interior surfaces and installed equipment, including beams, walls, and other structural components. • Perform work while standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing or working from ladders for extended periods. • Participate in power washing activities throughout all seasons, including winter, and dress appropriately for weather conditions. • Walk approximately 10 minutes outdoors from the parking lot to the guard shack for daily check-in. • Work collaboratively in groups of 45, communicating effectively and supporting team members to complete cleaning tasks safely and efficiently. • Follow all site safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. • Adapt to changing construction schedules, including working occasional overtime and some Saturdays as needed. Essential Skills
• At least 1 year of experience in a labor-intensive role. • Experience in construction, general labor, cleaning, or janitorial work. • Understanding of working alongside other trades and around heavy equipment on construction sites. • Ability to safely use hand tools and cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, and pressure washers. • Ability to use and work from scissor lifts and other elevated platforms as required. • Valid drivers license. • Ability to stand and perform physical work for 10 or more hours per day. • Ability to work safely in hot and cold environments, in all weather conditions including rain or shine. • Capacity to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, kneeling, bending, climbing ladders, and carrying equipment. • Willingness to complete pre-employment drug screening and background checks as required. • Construction experience is highly beneficial for understanding site operations and coordination with other trades. • Familiarity with scissor lifts and heavy equipment environments. • Comfort working on active construction sites with ongoing installation work. • Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness on technical facilities such as data centers. • Strong teamwork skills and reliability when working in small groups. • Self-motivation and attention to detail in maintaining clean and safe work areas. Typical hours are Monday through Friday from around 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some days running longer due to construction needs and occasional Saturday work and overtime. A 30-minute unpaid lunch break is provided; workers should bring their own lunch with an ice pack, as refrigerators are not available, though microwaves are provided. The environment includes ongoing installation work, heavy equipment, and elevated work areas, requiring constant awareness and strict adherence to safety protocols. Power washing and other cleaning tasks continue throughout all seasons, so workers must be prepared for hot, cold, and wet conditions. There is a roughly 10-minute outdoor walk from the parking lot to the guard shack for daily check-in. Work is performed in small teams of 45 people. The dress code requires steel-toed boots, jeans, and a work-appropriate shirt supplied by the contractor, along with PPE including an ANSI-Z89 hard hat, ANSI-Z87 safety glasses, an ANSI safety vest with 2-inch reflective tape, and level 24 cut-resistant work gloves, which are provided unless workers already have their own approved equipment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bristow, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
