Manufacturing Supervisor Location: Oakland, CASchedule: Full-Time | Monday-FridayCompensation: $90,000-$120,000 annually (DOE) Overview We are seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead daily operations within a custom manufacturing environment. This role oversees approximately 12-15 employees across Finishing, Graining, and Packaging while supporting workplace safety, product quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.The Manufacturing Supervisor coordinates production schedules, allocates labor resources, monitors workflow, and collaborates with Fabrication, CNC/Digital Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Inventory, and Quality teams to achieve operational objectives. This position also supports continuous improvement initiatives, employee development, and operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and support a team of 12-15 production employees in Finishing, Graining, and Packaging operations. • Schedule and coordinate daily and weekly production activities to meet production priorities and customer requirements. • Coordinate staffing and labor resources to balance workloads and support production goals. • Monitor productivity, quality, and delivery performance and address operational issues as needed. • Promote workplace safety through training, coaching, adherence to safety procedures, and proper use of PPE. • Support employee development through coaching, training, feedback, and performance discussions. • Investigate safety and quality concerns, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. • Maintain production reports, schedules, and operational documentation. • Support inventory management, material planning, and production readiness. • Identify and implement process improvements that improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow. • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Fabrication, CNC/Digital Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality teams to improve manufacturing processes. • Support quality initiatives and ensure products meet established customer and operational requirements. • Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, safety, and standardized work practices. • Coordinate workforce training related to safety, quality, and operational procedures. Qualifications Required
• High School Diploma or GED. • Manufacturing experience in a production environment. • Experience leading, supervising, or coordinating production employees. • Experience supporting teams of approximately 10 or more employees. • Experience with production scheduling and workforce planning. • Knowledge of manufacturing safety practices and regulatory compliance. • Experience with quality control, process improvement, and root cause analysis. • Leadership, communication, coaching, and team collaboration skills. • Ability to prioritize work activities and respond to changing production needs. • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or a related field. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will also be considered. • Experience using SAP ERP systems. • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement methodologies. • Experience in metal fabrication, sheet metal, architectural metals, or custom manufacturing environments. • Experience supervising finishing operations, including coating, painting, polishing, or surface-treatment processes. • Experience with inventory management, procurement, and material planning. • Experience supporting CNC or Digital Manufacturing operations. • Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Livermore, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $53.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
