Job Title: Manufacturing TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Manufacturing Technician performs electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly, rework, testing, and repair of a variety of electronic products and mechanical assemblies. This role works from complex wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, sketches, and running sheets to build and modify electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies. The technician provides routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, materials, products, processes, and equipment, while ensuring production deadlines, product quality, and compliance requirements are consistently met. Responsibilities • Perform electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly, rework, testing, and repair on electronic products and mechanical assemblies. • Build, test, modify, rework, and repair electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies according to established procedures. • Work from complex and standard wiring and assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, sketches, and running sheets. • Provide routine technical support to engineers and scientists on standard components, devices, materials, products, processes, and equipment. • Interpret and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety rules, and other production documentation. • Execute related manufacturing processes required to complete assemblies and sub-assemblies. • Read and, when required, assist in developing wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and engineering specifications for system or equipment modifications or expansions. • Support and direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties based on established documentation and specifications. • Handle small, delicate components using appropriate electrostatic discharge (ESD) practices and tools. • Use hand tools to perform assembly, rework, repair, and disassembly tasks with a high level of precision. • Meet established production deadlines while maintaining throughput and efficiency. • Ensure high quality of finished products, contributing to strong pass/fail rates and minimal rework. • Adhere to compliance requirements and safety standards in all manufacturing activities. • Work in manufacturing and cleanroom environments as required, following appropriate protocols and gowning procedures when applicable. Essential Skills • Ability to perform complex electro-mechanical assembly, disassembly, rework, and repair of electronic and mechanical products. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex wiring diagrams, layout drawings, blueprints, assembly drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications, and sketches. • Capability to follow and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety rules in a manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated strong decision-making skills and the ability to take initiative in resolving production and technical issues. • Leadership skills sufficient to direct personnel performing routine installation and maintenance duties when needed. • Experience handling small, delicate components using proper ESD practices. • Experience in the safe handling of chemicals used in manufacturing and assembly processes. • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for precision assembly and rework. • Ability to use a variety of hand tools for assembly, rework, repair, and disassembly. • Competence with computer applications, including Access and Excel, for production, tracking, and documentation tasks. • Eligibility to provide a copy of a high school diploma (including from a foreign country). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Soldering experience, including fine-pitch and precision work, is a plus. • Wire bonding experience is a plus. • Experience working in cleanroom environments is beneficial. • Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems is a plus. • Background in production, assembly, complex assembly, and rework is advantageous. • Ability to perform repair and disassembly on a variety of assemblies and sub-assemblies. • Familiarity with reading and working from blueprints and detailed technical drawings. • Interest in long-term contract opportunities within a stable manufacturing setting. Work EnvironmentThe work takes place in a manufacturing setting that may include time in cleanroom areas, where strict cleanliness, safety, and process controls are followed. You work with electronic, optical, and mechanical assemblies using hand tools, test equipment, and computer applications such as Access and Excel. The environment is production-focused, with clear documentation, SOPs, and engineering specifications guiding daily tasks. You may be required to follow cleanroom protocols and wear appropriate attire and protective equipment to maintain product quality and safety standards, while adhering to compliance and operational procedures throughout the facility. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
