Job Title: Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThis role focuses on safely operating forklifts and related material handling equipment while supporting warehouse, production, and distribution activities. You will handle inventory movements, drive a box truck after successfully passing a DOT physical, use RF scanning and computer systems to manage stock, and contribute to a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment by following established Standard Operating Procedures and safety standards. Responsibilities • Apply Good Manufacturing Principles (GMP) in all areas of responsibility to ensure product quality and regulatory compliance. • Demonstrate and promote the company vision and values in daily work activities. • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) relevant to warehouse, production support, and distribution tasks. • Show willingness to learn and understand the goals and priorities of the department. • Assist team members by fulfilling internal requests for materials and inventory in a timely manner. • Ensure that inventory is stored properly and safely, maintaining warehouse areas for safety, neatness, and organization. • Stock warehouse areas with required items to support on-time job completion for production rooms, using a First-In, First-Out (FIFO) system. • Locate inventory in appropriate storage locations, including cold chain, staging, controlled areas, and other designated zones. • Perform cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy and assist other departments with inventory movements. • Run inventory reports to support stock put-away and other inventory control processes. • Review replenishment reports, including transfer and inbound reports, to support put-away processes associated with distribution protocols. • Replenish distribution protocols in forward pick zones and move stagnant protocols into long-term storage as needed. • Put away cancelled distribution orders, including performing cycle counts prior to put-away to ensure inventory accuracy. • Identify inventory discrepancies as they arise and assist with problem solving and fact finding to resolve issues. • Assist with Technician I duties when needed to support overall operations. • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to move, pick, and stage inventory. • Use RF scanners and computer systems to perform order picking, packing, inventory control, and material handling tasks. • Drive a box truck as required, contingent on passing a DOT physical and meeting applicable standards. • Perform other related duties as assigned by management to support warehouse, production, and distribution operations. Essential Skills • Experience operating forklifts, including stand-up forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers, with prior forklift experience strongly preferred. • Ability and willingness to train and qualify on stand-up forklifts, order pickers, and other material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and cherry pickers. • Proficiency using RF scanners and RF technologies for inventory control, order picking, and packing. • Intermediate computer skills and computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Windows and basic inventory systems. • Knowledge of inventory control processes, including cycle counting, stock put-away, replenishment, and FIFO practices. • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation. • Capability to pass all standards required for TSA clearance, as well as a DOT physical for box truck operation. • Basic math skills for counting, reconciliation, and inventory accuracy. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced warehouse and production support environment. • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks. • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other departments. • Ability to read, understand, and adhere to SOPs and policies in a GMP environment. • Physical ability to stand, bend, reach, walk, and talk throughout the shift. • Ability to regularly lift up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift up to 45 pounds. • Comfort working in temperature extremes ranging from -30°C to 25°C for up to 30 minutes at a time. • Ability to work in atmospheric conditions that may require the use of Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR). Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in warehouse, manufacturing, or production support environments. • Background in order selecting, order picking, and packing operations. • Familiarity with cold chain storage, staging, and controlled inventory environments. • Problem-solving skills and the ability to participate in fact finding to resolve inventory discrepancies. • Experience supporting distribution protocols, forward pick zones, and long-term storage processes. • Comfort working in clean rooms and controlled manufacturing spaces. • Understanding of safety practices and a strong commitment to maintaining a neat, organized, and safe workplace. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment that includes some clean rooms and controlled storage areas. Multiple shifts are available: 1st shift runs from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday through Friday, 2nd shift runs from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, and 3rd shift runs from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM Sunday through Thursday. The role involves regular exposure to varying temperature extremes, ranging from -30°C to 25°C for periods of up to 30 minutes, particularly in cold chain and controlled environments. Atmospheric conditions may at times require the use of Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR). The setting emphasizes Good Manufacturing Practices, adherence to SOPs, and a strong focus on safety, organization, and cleanliness. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Allentown, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.28/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
