Warehouse Associate Job Summary
• Accurately count, inspect, locate, and handle food and non-food products within the warehouse. • Support daily warehouse operations including order fulfillment, inventory management, shipping, receiving, and material handling. • Maintain a safe, clean, and food-compliant distribution center environment. • Work in a warehouse setting with occasional outdoor exposure and varying temperatures. Key Responsibilities
• Pick and fulfill customer/agency orders using warehouse management systems and RF scanners. • Scan products and storage locations to ensure order accuracy. • Load products onto pallets for shipment or pickup. • Conduct inventory counts and maintain inventory accuracy of 95% or higher. • Stack, secure, and shrink-wrap pallets for safe transportation. • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently. • Assist with loading and unloading trucks. • Support shipping, receiving, and transfer operations as needed. • Cross-train and provide operational support across multiple warehouse functions. • Assist with volunteer-led warehouse projects and activities. • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout warehouse, cooler, and freezer areas. • Complete daily sanitation logs and equipment inspection checklists. • Follow OSHA safety regulations and AIB Food Safety standards. • Support warehouse leads and other team members during staffing gaps or high-volume periods. • Perform additional duties assigned by supervisors to support warehouse operations. Required Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent. • Minimum 2 years of warehouse or operations experience. • Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse management systems. • Experience with inventory control, stock counting, and inventory tracking. • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and motorized warehouse equipment. • Valid license/certification to operate warehouse equipment, as applicable. • Ability to work overtime and weekends when required. • Knowledge of OSHA warehouse safety standards. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • Customer-service mindset with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in shipping and receiving operations. • Previous forklift and material handling equipment experience. • Familiarity with warehouse technology and inventory systems. • Experience maintaining sanitation records and equipment inspections. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment and inventory management. • Experience working in food distribution, cooler/freezer environments, or temperature-controlled warehouses. • Ability to adapt and support multiple operational functions through cross-training. Work Environment
• Semi-climate-controlled warehouse environment. • Regular exposure to coolers, freezers, and fluctuating temperatures. • Occasional outdoor work while loading/unloading shipments. • Frequent lifting, moving, stacking, wrapping, and transporting of products. • Daily use of forklifts, pallet jacks, RF scanners, and related warehouse equipment. • Strong emphasis on workplace safety, sanitation, and food safety compliance. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Lorton, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.03 - $24.03/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
