Job DescriptionThe Shipping and Receiving Clerk handles the accurate movement of materials in a manufacturing environment, including pulling parts, preparing shipments, receiving incoming goods, and maintaining inventory records using computerized systems and material handling equipment such as forklifts.Responsibilities
• Handle daily shipping and receiving activities for a manufacturing operation, ensuring materials and finished goods move efficiently through the facility. • Pull parts and materials based on materials lists, bills of lading, and order requirements, including steel parts weighing up to 50 pounds. • Receive parts and materials from trucks, verify quantities and descriptions against shipping documents, and report discrepancies when needed. • Use a forklift to move, load, unload, and stage parts and materials safely throughout the warehouse and production areas. • Perform general material handling duties, including packing, packaging, and preparing orders for shipment according to established procedures. • Use computer systems for labeling, shipping, and receiving processes, including data entry for inventory updates, shipment creation, and documentation. • Support inventory control activities such as cycle counts, warehouse inventory checks, and reconciliation of physical inventory with system records. • Assist with order picking and order selection to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of production and customer orders. • Load and unload trucks and other transport vehicles while following safety guidelines and proper handling techniques. • Maintain organized work areas in shipping, receiving, and warehouse spaces to support efficient logistics and production flow. • Follow all established safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of forklifts and other equipment. • Adhere to dress code and facility rules, including the use of required protective footwear and appropriate clothing. • Collaborate with production and logistics teams to resolve shipping, receiving, and inventory issues promptly. • Complete general labor tasks as needed to support production and warehouse operations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Archbold, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
