Job Title: Commercial Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Commercial Maintenance Technician delivers efficient, high-quality building and facilities services across multiple commercial properties within an assigned geographic territory. This role uses a company-provided vehicle and tools to travel between customer sites, performing preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and general service on buildings, equipment, and grounds. The technician maintains a professional, customer-facing presence, ensuring commercial facilities remain in like-new condition by applying a broad range of trade skills, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, HVAC, and other maintenance disciplines as needed.Responsibilities
• Complete preventive maintenance and repair activities in accordance with work order requirements, company procedures, regulatory requirements, and safety standards. • Perform minor plumbing maintenance on existing systems, including repairing and unclogging toilets and urinals, replacing and maintaining valve assemblies, toilets and faucet fixtures, and repairing or maintaining sensors for automatic flush kits. • Carry out routine painting and carpentry work to maintain supported facilities in like-new condition, such as repairing holes in drywall, preparing surfaces, and matching paint to present a uniform and original appearance. • Repair and perform routine maintenance on walls, floors, doors, and other building components, including painting and touch-up work to enhance the overall appearance and functionality of customer facilities. • Perform minor electrical maintenance within state law requirements for non-licensed work, including repairing or replacing fixtures, wall switches, and outlets. • Replace light bulbs, ballasts, and sockets as needed to ensure proper lighting throughout facilities. • Execute assigned day-to-day repairs, emergency maintenance, and preventive maintenance tasks across multiple commercial properties. • Complete assigned work orders promptly and accurately, and communicate work order status through designated business processes. • Use and operate handheld devices and business systems or document management software, including Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Outlook, to manage work orders, documentation, and communication. • Maintain current knowledge of and comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency requirements, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. • Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies at all times while performing maintenance activities. • Travel daily between local properties to provide on-site maintenance support and ensure consistent service levels. Essential Skills
• Proven experience in maintenance or commercial facilities maintenance, including hands-on repair and upkeep of building systems and structures. • Experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of building mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. • Ability to perform minor plumbing tasks such as repairing and unclogging toilets and urinals, maintaining valves, fixtures, and sensor-operated flush kits. • Ability to perform minor electrical tasks within state law requirements for non-licensed work, including repairing or replacing fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, ballasts, and sockets. • Competence in carpentry, painting, and general handyman tasks to maintain walls, floors, doors, and finishes in like-new condition. • Ability to complete work orders in a timely manner while following established procedures and quality standards. • Proficiency in using handheld devices and business systems or document management software, including Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook. • Strong understanding of OSHA standards and commitment to complying with company safety policies. • Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and governmental requirements related to building operations and maintenance. • Capability to travel locally between multiple properties on a daily basis. • Background in commercial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or handyman services. • Experience working in environments that require coordination across multiple sites or properties. • Familiarity with HVAC systems and basic diagnostic and repair techniques. • Comfort working with a variety of building finishes and materials to restore facilities to a uniform, like-new appearance. • Ability to maintain professional, face-to-face relationships with customers and represent the company with high workmanship standards. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple work orders and priorities across different locations. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, MD. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
