Aerotek is hiring for HVAC techs Job DescriptionThe HVAC Service Technician operates in a service and repair capacity, responding to a variety of service orders for commercial and institutional facilities. This role focuses on maintaining the integrity and performance of HVAC and related electrical systems in corporate office buildings, medical facilities, schools, and retail spaces. The technician diagnoses issues, performs repairs, and conducts preventive maintenance to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.Responsibilities
• Respond to daily service orders for HVAC and related systems across multiple commercial and institutional facilities. • Troubleshoot HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and associated electrical and mechanical components to identify root causes of issues. • Perform repairs on HVAC equipment, controls, and electrical systems to restore proper functionality. • Conduct preventive maintenance on HVAC and facilities systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life. • Install, adjust, and repair ductwork, ensuring proper airflow and system performance. • Inspect and maintain building mechanical systems to support overall facilities integrity. • Operate a company vehicle to travel independently to various worksites and complete assigned service orders. • Document work performed, including diagnostics, repairs, and parts used, in a clear and accurate manner. • Interact in a presentable and consultative manner with customers and clients, explaining issues and recommended solutions. • Work independently in diverse environments, adapting to different facility types and site conditions as needed. Essential Skills
• Strong HVAC troubleshooting skills, including diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and controls-related issues. • Hands-on experience with refrigeration systems in commercial or industrial settings. • Proficiency in working with ductwork, including installation, modification, and repair. • Knowledge of HVAC controls and electrical systems, including basic wiring and component testing. • Mechanical aptitude for repairing and maintaining a variety of building systems. • Experience performing preventive and facilities maintenance on HVAC and related equipment. • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with industrial or commercial facilities and HVAC systems. • Ability to work independently and manage daily service tasks without direct supervision. • Clean driving record suitable for operating a company vehicle. • Ownership of personal hand tools required for HVAC service work (specialty tools provided by the company). You will operate a company vehicle to travel independently to worksites and be part of a team of roughly 60 technicians, though you will generally work alone in the field. Company uniforms are provided, including short-sleeve button-down shirts and lace-up boots, with steel toes not required. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Kannapolis, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $100000.00/yr.
