Job Title: Maintenance Engineer | $28-$40/hr | 1st Shift | Sugarcreek, OH Job DescriptionThis Maintenance Engineer role focuses on industrial maintenance in a heavy manufacturing environment, with responsibilities split approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical. The position works on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:303:30 PM, with a potential oncall requirement. You install, replace, and troubleshoot industrial equipment and components, support automation and robotics systems, and ensure reliable operation of electrical and mechanical systems across the facility.Responsibilities
• Install, replace, and troubleshoot industrial equipment and components in a heavy manufacturing environment. • Perform industrial electrical and mechanical maintenance, with approximately 70% of work focused on electrical systems and 30% on mechanical systems. • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems including 480V circuits and threephase motors, covering installation, repair, and diagnostics. • Conduct strong PLC troubleshooting on platforms such as Siemens and similar systems; PLC programming is considered a plus. • Work with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including troubleshooting, programming, calibrating, and maintaining drives from manufacturers such as Danfoss, SEW, Siemens, and similar brands. • Read, interpret, and work from electrical schematics and blueprints to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. • Perform mechanical stripping, rebuilding, and reassembly of machinery to restore proper operation. • Carry out hydraulic and pneumatic repairs, including troubleshooting, component replacement, and system adjustments. • Fit, align, and replace machine parts to maintain equipment reliability and performance. • Support and maintain industrial automation and robotics systems, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance of robots such as Fanuc and comparable platforms. • Work with industrial networks, designing, implementing, and maintaining systems such as EtherNet/IP and Profinet. • Execute preventive maintenance tasks on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life. • Perform general industrial maintenance, including welding and mechanical repairs, as needed to keep production equipment operational. • Create, read, modify, and manage AutoCAD drawings for electrical and mechanical systems when required. • Diagnose issues involving sensors, servos, photo eyes, and other automation components, and implement effective corrective actions. • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment, including electrical hookups, mechanical assembly, and control integration. • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, modifications, and repairs to equipment and control systems. • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, safety, and performance. • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts related to industrial automation, robotics, and control systems. Essential Skills
• Industrial maintenance experience in a multicraft role, with approximately 70% electrical and 30% mechanical responsibilities. • Strong electrical maintenance exp working with 480V systems and threephase motors, including installation, repair, and troubleshooting. • Handson experience troubleshooting PLCs, with strong diagnostic skills on platforms such as Siemens and similar systems. • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), including drives from manufacturers such as Danfoss, SEW, Siemens, and comparable brands. • Practical experience with industrial automation and robotics, such as Fanuc robots or similar systems, including electrical and mechanical troubleshooting. • Solid mechanical skill set, including hydraulics, pneumatics, machine repair, and mobile equipment repair. • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation. • Experience working with industrial electrical components such as sensors, servos, photo eyes, and related automation hardware. • exp in preventive maintenance, installation, and maintenance repair within an industrial environment. • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, Mechatronics, or a related field, or at least 5 years of equivalent work experience in related industrial maintenance responsibilities. • At least 2 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems if holding a relevant diploma or degree. • At least 7 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems if a relevant diploma or degree is not held. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in ceramics, metal, or building products manufacturing environments. • Familiarity with equipment such as kilns and extruders used in heavy industrial production. • AutoCAD knowledge, including the ability to create, read, modify, and manage drawings for electrical and mechanical systems. • Experience with a range of VFDs, including Danfoss, SEW, Siemens, and similar drives, with capability to program, calibrate, and troubleshoot them. • Experience with Fanuc or similar industrial robots, including electrical and mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting. • Ability to design, implement, and maintain industrial network systems such as EtherNet/IP and Profinet. • Exposure to welding and general mechanical fabrication in support of industrial maintenance tasks. • Experience with robotics and automation systems in an industrial setting. • Familiarity with troubleshooting automation components, including sensors, servos, and photo eyes. • Comfort working in heavy industrial, dusty environments with varying seasonal temperatures. Work is performed on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to approximately 2:303:30 PM, with a potential oncall requirement. You work directly with industrial machinery, automation systems, robotics, electrical power systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, VFDs, PLCs, and industrial networks such as EtherNet/IP and Profinet, using tools such as AutoCAD, welding equipment, and standard maintenance instruments in a handson, productionfocused environment.
