Job Title: Production SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor is responsible for leading and independently managing the day-to-day operations of the production shift to ensure the safe, efficient, timely, and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality products. This role owns shift performance and is accountable for achieving production, labor, quality, food safety, service, yield, waste, and productivity objectives. The Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to production employees, makes real-time operating decisions, allocates labor and resources, manages staffing and overtime, monitors performance, resolves operational issues, and escalates significant risks appropriately. The position requires a leader who can run the shift with limited day-to-day direction while maintaining strong communication with Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, Sanitation, and Human Resources. Responsibilities • Lead and independently manage day-to-day operations of the production shift. • Ensure safe, efficient, timely, and cost-effective production of high-quality products. • Own shift performance and accountability for production, labor, quality, food safety, service, yield, waste, and productivity. • Provide hands-on leadership to production employees. • Make real-time operating decisions and allocate labor and resources. • Manage staffing and overtime, monitor performance, resolve operational issues, and escalate significant risks. • Maintain strong communication with Operations, Quality Assurance, Maintenance, Warehouse, Planning, Sanitation, and Human Resources. Essential Skills • 5+ years of production supervisor experience. • Experience supervising 75-100 people per shift. • Lean Manufacturing knowledge. • ERP working experience. • Production planning experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Continuous improvement mindset. • Leadership abilities and high initiative. • Food manufacturing and food management expertise. • Bachelor's degree. • Conflict resolution skills. • Familiarity with GMP environment. The clean and smaller facility smells of chocolate, caramel, and nuts, so candidates must not have peanut allergies. The temperature is fairly controlled, though it can get warm in the summer. Shifts require heavy flexibility with the First Shift running from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm and the Second Shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. PPE requirements include a long-sleeved lab coat, hair net, steel toe shoes, and gloves, with no jewelry or fake eyelashes permitted on the production floor. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Markham, ON. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $85000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
