Forklift OperatorJob DescriptionThe Forklift Operator works in a climate-controlled, clean food manufacturing facility, operating sit-down propane forklifts throughout the shift. The role focuses on safely and efficiently loading and unloading trucks, moving materials within narrow racking aisles, and handling finished goods in the warehouse. The operator spends the majority of the day on a forklift, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds while supporting shipping and receiving activities and maintaining accurate documentation.Responsibilities
• Operate sit-down propane forklifts safely and efficiently in narrow aisles and tight clearances within the receiving and finished goods warehouse areas. • Load and unload trucks throughout the shift, ensuring materials are handled carefully and placed in the correct locations. • Ensure all packaged materials are appropriately labeled and accurately put away in the warehouse according to established procedures. • Stage loads for trucks scheduled for the next morning, organizing pallets and materials to support on-time outbound shipments. • Communicate regularly with the shipping team and leadership to stay updated on upcoming trucks, production plans, and changing priorities. • Understand and follow all shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation, labeling, and material flow requirements. • Produce accurate, legible paperwork for shipping, receiving, inventory movement, and any other required documentation. • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts of the finished goods warehouse, identifying and resolving any inventory discrepancies. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clean, climate-controlled food manufacturing facility with a finished goods warehouse and dedicated shipping and receiving areas. Forklift operators work primarily on sit-down propane forklifts in narrow racking aisles with tight clearances, requiring careful and precise maneuvering. The environment includes regular use of RF scanners, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment. The facility emphasizes cleanliness and organization, with ongoing housekeeping in shipping and receiving areas. Work is performed indoors, with consistent temperatures and structured warehouse processes that support both comfort and efficiency. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Long Prairie, MN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
