Job Title: Construction ForemanJob DescriptionThe Construction Foreman reports directly to the assigned job site and works closely with the Project Manager to deliver projects from start to finish, on schedule, within budget, and according to the approved scope of work. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines site supervision, crew management, subcontractor coordination, and active participation in construction tasks to ensure high-quality results and a positive client experience.Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the daily activities on the job site, ensuring work is completed on schedule, within budget, and in line with the approved scope of work. • Delegate tasks to crew members, clearly communicating job expectations, priorities, and timelines. • Perform hands-on construction work, including carpentry, framing, and finish carpentry, while monitoring workmanship, quality, and material usage. • Coordinate closely with the Project Manager on job progress, material needs, and any potential change orders or additional work. • Coordinate with subcontractors working on assigned projects to ensure their work aligns with project plans and timelines. • Read and interpret blueprints and construction plans to guide the crew and ensure accurate execution of work. • Use appropriate hand tools and equipment safely and effectively during construction activities. • Communicate professionally with clients regarding job-site activities, project status, and progress updates. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site, promoting safe work practices for all crew members and subcontractors. • Identify job-site problems or potential issues early and work with the Project Manager to develop practical solutions. • Help ensure projects are completed efficiently and prepared for final client walkthrough, addressing any remaining punch-list items as needed. Essential Skills
• Proven experience in hands-on construction work, including carpentry, framing, and finish carpentry. • Ability to lead and delegate tasks to employees, clearly communicating expectations and priorities. • Experience in commercial or residential construction environments. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents. • Strong ability to coordinate with Project Managers on job progress, material needs, and change orders. • Skill in coordinating and working with subcontractors on active job sites. • Competence in using hand tools and related construction equipment safely and effectively. • Excellent verbal communication skills for professional interaction with clients and project stakeholders. • Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe job site. • Problem-solving skills to identify job-site issues early and collaborate on effective solutions. • Background working with general contractors or in a general contracting environment. • Experience managing small crews on multiple projects. • Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on construction work. • Attention to detail to ensure projects are ready for final client walkthrough and meet quality expectations. Work takes place on different projects in indoor residential settings, typically with small crews. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buffalo, NY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
