Learn more: jti.com Sales Associate Join our dynamic Marketing & Sales team as a Sales Associate, based in South Africa covering territories such as Germiston, Elsburg, Primrose, Wadeville, Bedfordview, Eastgate, Sandringham, Bramly, and JHB East. Reporting to the Sales Field Manager, you will play a vital role in managing your assigned territory and contributing to the region's overall growth and market presence. Purpose of the Role As a Sales Associate, you will be accountable for driving performance against volume, share of market, and distribution targets within your territory. This involves the diligent and effective implementation of strategic programmes designed by the company, ensuring excellent execution aligned with corporate goals. Your efforts will support the wider team in achieving impactful results in a competitive marketplace. Main Areas of Responsibility Consistently achieve defined business objectives, monthly targets, and standards assigned by your line manager, aligning with regional volume commitments and strategic priorities. Build, nurture, and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers to successfully execute company initiatives and programmes with a high standard of excellence across your territory. Accurately record daily field activities using PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) devices and ensure timely data uploads to support effective planning, monitoring, and strategic decision-making. Manage and control boot stock and cash sales, adhering strictly to company policies and procedures, to maximise distribution opportunities and prevent stock shortages or out-of-stock occurrences. Identify new growth opportunities through market insights and customer engagement, communicating these monthly to the sales team and contributing to business expansion. Maintain thorough and high-quality administrative compliance in line with company policies, ensuring all reporting and documentation is accurate and timely. Exercise responsibility in managing company assets prudently, contributing to sustainable profitability and asset protection. Uphold professional conduct when representing JTI, strictly observing corporate governance, marketing standards, and compliance with all relevant legislative requirements. Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by your direct manager, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach. Who We Are Looking For – Requirements A minimum of Matric qualification is required, with preference for candidates holding or pursuing tertiary qualifications such as a business-related diploma or degree. Experience working collaboratively within a team environment in a business setting. Prior sales experience within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is highly advantageous. Basic understanding of marketing and sales principles is preferable, alongside a proven track record of excellent performance and achievement in previous roles. Fluency in English is essential for effective communication. Proficiency with PC software, including Microsoft Office, is required to support reporting and communication duties. A motivated, results-driven individual who exhibits strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage time and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage and influence customers and stakeholders respectfully and professionally. Why Join Us?
