SBOM Software Asset Management Analyst Location: 100% Remote (Must work East Coast hours)Duration: Long-term contract with potential for full-time conversionTarget Locations for Future Conversion: Raleigh, Dallas, or Phoenix preferred About the Opportunity We are seeking a Software Asset Management (SAM) Analyst with strong experience in Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs), software licensing, and ServiceNow SAM. This role will help build and support an enterprise SBOM program focused on improving visibility into open-source and third-party software components across a large technology environment.You will work closely with teams across Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk, Procurement, and Application Development to improve software governance, compliance, and asset management processes. What You'll Be Doing

• Collect, validate, and analyze Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) • Review CycloneDX and other SBOM formats to identify software components, dependencies, and licensing requirements • Maintain visibility into open-source, commercial, and third-party software used throughout the organization • Connect SBOM data to software products, applications, and entitlement records within ServiceNow • Identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicate records, and software normalization concerns • Support software licensing, entitlement management, and compliance analysis activities • Perform license reconciliation and help maintain accurate software asset records • Work with data from ServiceNow, GitLab, JFrog Artifactory, Flexera, and other technology platforms • Create requirements, process documentation, and testing plans for new enhancements and integrations • Develop reports, dashboards, metrics, and audit documentation • Partner with development, security, procurement, and risk teams to improve software governance processes • Support automation and process improvement initiatives within the SAM and SBOM programs Required Experience

• 3+ years of experience in Software Asset Management (SAM), IT Asset Management, software licensing, or a related field • Hands-on experience working with Software Bills of Materials (SBOMs) • Knowledge of CycloneDX and/or SPDX formats • Understanding of open-source software components, dependencies, and licensing • Experience with ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) • Experience with software inventory, entitlement management, and license compliance • Strong data analysis, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work across technical and business teams • Strong communication and documentation skills Preferred Experience

• GitLab • JFrog Artifactory • Flexera • Technopedia or DejaCode • ServiceNow CMDB • Open-source software governance • Software normalization and discovery • CVE, CPE, and PURL standards • User Acceptance Testing (UAT) • Process improvement and automation initiatives Ideal Candidate This position is best suited for someone who combines traditional Software Asset Management experience with hands-on SBOM knowledge. The strongest candidates will have experience analyzing CycloneDX data, understanding open-source licensing implications, working within ServiceNow SAM, and performing software license reconciliation and compliance activities. • 100% remote • Must be available during East Coast business hours • Long-term contract opportunity • Potential full-time conversion for top performers • Candidates located near Raleigh, Dallas, or Phoenix may receive priority consideration for conversion opportunities Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Raleigh, NC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $68.97 - $75.86/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
