Apple Orchard Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Worker Salary: £28,619.14 per annum, with the opportunity to earn additional income through overtime Location: Horsham, West Sussex Contract: Full Time, Permanent Specific Hours: Up to 55 hours per week, depending on the home and rota pattern

We’re looking for friendly, outgoing Waking Night Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our supportive team. A Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare (or similar) is ideal, but not essential - we welcome applications from those willing to work towards it.

Please note that rota patterns will vary depending on the service. Current patterns include: 22:00 - 09:00, averaging 40 hours per week, on a four nights on, four nights off rotaAveraging 55 hours per week, on a five nights on, five nights off rota, with occasional additional nights required to meet service needs Promote the welfare and safety of young people in line with the Children Act 1989Attend weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions when not on shift the night beforeTake part in required training and attend the annual summer holiday when requiredArrive on time, complete handovers, and stay informed about each young person’s needs and events of the dayBuild an understanding of each young person to help assess and meet their ongoing emotional and practical needsSupport consistent bedtime routines and encourage good hygiene habitsMonitor young people throughout the night, recording all disturbances, movements and key events clearlyComplete nightly paperwork, including the Daily Register, fridge/freezer checks, fire alarm tests and task sheetsPrepare the breakfast table, promote healthy eating, and tidy away afterwardsCarry out any additional duties requested by the line managerMaintain safety and security at all times - this is the highest priority Apple Orchard is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
